Serves 2 | Prep time 3 minutes | Cooking time approx. 20 – 25 minutes
You will need
- 200g rice
- 400ml water
- Seasoning to taste

Method:
Place water in the pan (optional: add salt) and bring to the boil.
Wash the rice with cold water, whilst the water is coming to the boil.
Carefully, add rice to pan of boiling water stir once to distribute rice evenly throughout.
Reduce to medium heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Cover the pan with a well-fitting lid.
Reduce heat to low.
After 10 minutes check the rice is cooked. Using a fork remove a couple of grains of rice and allow to cool enough to handle, squeeze and gently rub the grains between finger and thumb. When the rice is cooked the grains will be soft all the way through.
Once the rice is cooked, it is ready to serve.
